Happy Umbrella #27: Back to Provo

After a few last dunks in the ocean and our final goodbyes to our beautiful Hawaiian friends, Luke and I boarded the plane and headed back to the mainland. Luke is back in school and I am job searching 24/7. We are keeping ourselves quite busy, but it is wonderful to be closer to family and friends and have more of a structured schedule...and our own car to drive!! No more carpooling!! Haha. We have been so blessed and we are amazed at the Lord's hand in our life everyday.

Here our a few pictures of us at our door in Hawaii, locking it up. We liked that it had a "C" on it - "C" for Chandler :).

When we first landed in Boise we stopped to visit Amy, Shane and crew for just a short chat and ended up riding the go-cart. I was a little timid, but thought it was great! Luke had fun too!! And at this point of our journey home we hadn't really slept for almost 36 hours.

Don, Luke's dad, was wonderful and he got us home safely. He was so kind to pick us up from Boise. My dad then took us to Provo the next day...what selfless Dads we have!!!

We have tried to get into a routine as quickly as possible. I know that finding a job will definitely help me with that. Luke is singing with his acapella group, Familiar Ring, again and playing ultimate frisbee with his intramural team, the Killer Kangas. This year they have official shirts and green socks they wear up to their knees. They have a team saying now, "If you look good, you play good." :) It is really fun to watch the games and support the team.

One of our first stops when we got back to Provo was Orange Julius in University Mall. We like strolling through the mall people-watching and taking no money with us (only enough for our orange julius treat) so we can't spend any. Our first time there this fall, Luke poured the julius all over his face and body and it was pretty funny. Glad I got a few pictures of it :). He got a little too excited about what was at the bottom of his cup!

And lastly, Luke and I made a great steal at yard sales about two weeks ago. We were in great need of a t.v. stand, coffee table, and a kitchen table. We traveled to about six yard sales without any luck and then we drove past this corner with a beautiful coffee table sitting on it. It had a cardboard box on top that said, "Coffee table - $10." We called the number and had a pretty nice coffee table within five minutes. We then went to two more yard sales and we ended the morning getting a coffee table, a kitchen table, two chairs, and a t.v. stand all for $22!! We felt lucky and blessed! I am now in the process of sanding the table and chairs so that I can paint it and make it nice. It has been a fun project to work on, but I am excited to start painting. Sanding is hard...hehe. We can't quite decide on the color yet, but I think we are almost there.

Ok, that is a brief update of a couple of things from the past few weeks! Wish me luck on my table project!!

Happy Umbrellaz!!
